After a 5-month reconstruction, Beijing Zoo's new bear exhibit opens at National Day.

This is the former bear pit shot at early 2014. As you can see, there was less enrichment, only the cement. The bear could only look up to visitors and beg for feeding.

But now everything has changed, for the first time, the bears can enjoy the grassland, the bourock, the swimming pool, and all things prepared for them to show natural behaviors.

And for the five little brown bears, the childhood will also be filled with more joy.

What's more, the familiar scenes, bears siting in the pit, making funny movements and waiting visitors throw down the foot, has gone forever. Now, on both sides of the glass, humans and bears look face to face equally, which will tell everyone more about respect.

I have a question : We can see two species of bears on these photos, Ursus arctos and Ursus thibetanus. Are the two species live in the same exhibit ?

There are three enclosure, one for four adult brown bears, one for five brown bear cubs, and one for two Asiatic black bears.
